A Thai delegation led by Chayika Wongnapachant, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently visited major international startup incubators Plug and Play and Block71 to explore collaboration opportunities and strengthen Thailand’s growing startup ecosystem. The mission focused on expanding investment channels, enhancing technological capabilities, and improving global market access for Thai entrepreneurs.
During their visit to Plug and Play, a renowned global accelerator, the Thai team engaged in presentations outlining the organization’s investment strategies and startup development programs, designed to connect early-stage companies with investors worldwide. Chayika invited Plug and Play to consider opening an office in Thailand, highlighting the country’s conducive environment for digital innovation and the government’s strong backing of startup initiatives. She emphasized Thailand’s commitment to building an innovation-driven economy and expressed hope that a partnership with Plug and Play would provide Thai entrepreneurs with greater access to funding and international markets.
The delegation also visited Block71, a startup ecosystem connected to the National University of Singapore (NUS), which assists Southeast Asian startups in expanding into Silicon Valley. Here, they learned about the Generative AI Accelerate Programme, a platform offering valuable business insights and market expansion opportunities for AI-driven startups. Chayika expressed interest in collaborating with Block71 to develop training programs that would empower Thai startups to scale and compete internationally.
This visit is part of Thailand’s broader effort to position itself as a leading player in the regional innovation landscape by forging stronger partnerships with influential global accelerators.
