The Department of Community Development, Ministry of Interior, has organized the OTOP Happiness for Communities project to stimulate the economy and strengthen the grassroots economy. The project aims to continue utilizing local resources and wisdom in OTOP product development, coupled with knowledge and innovation, expanding market channels, and creating sustainable income for producers and entrepreneurs in communities. This year’s event, the 11th of its kind, is scheduled to take place from January 19-25, 2026 (7 days). Over 200 booths will feature OTOP producers and entrepreneurs (1-5 star ratings) and OTOP food products, covering categories such as food, beverages, textiles and clothing, household goods, decorations, souvenirs, non-food herbal products, and food samples. The goal is to increase market opportunities and income for over 3,600 OTOP producers/groups nationwide.
The event includes activities such as the display and sale of 1-5 star OTOP products, demonstrations and presentations of local wisdom development processes, business matching activities, sales promotion activities and lucky draws, as well as cultural performances, to create a positive atmosphere and encourage the public to support OTOP products and contribute to the strong and sustainable growth of the community economy.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Interior stated that the OTOP (One Tambon One Product) project, “Bringing Happiness to Communities,” is a crucial mechanism for driving the government’s policy on grassroots economic development. It helps increase market channels for OTOP products while simultaneously preserving and continuing local wisdom to maintain the unique identity of Thai products for sustainable community use. Furthermore, it provides a platform for local people and entrepreneurs to learn about product designs, enabling them to improve and develop their products to meet market demands and generate income for the community, ultimately leading to long-term economic stability at the grassroots level.
