Poll Reveals Thais Seek New PM to Address Cost of Living Issues

A new nationwide survey conducted by Suan Dusit Poll has revealed that most Thais expect the country’s 32nd Prime Minister to urgently address the rising cost of living and economic hardship. The poll, carried out between September 2 and 5, 2025, gathered responses from 1,191 participants through both online and field interviews.

According to the findings, 68.26% of respondents said the most pressing task for the incoming Prime Minister is solving problems related to daily livelihood. Confidence in the new government’s ability to solve the country’s problems stood at a moderate 56.09%. Meanwhile, 76.66% agreed that dissolving Parliament within four months to allow new elections would be a positive development.
More than half of respondents (53.81%) urged the Prime Minister to prioritize economic issues above all else. The poll results underscore ongoing public frustration over political promises and signal growing pressure on the government to restore trust through effective governance and swift action.
