BANGKOK (NNT) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs visited the Sa Kaeo Industrial Estate, Sa Kaeo Province, to get an update on the cross-border trade and investment between Thailand and Cambodia and the development of the Sa Kaeo Special Economic Zone.
Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa discussed the development of the Sa Kaeo Special Economic Zone and ways to enhance its connectivity with the special economic zones in Cambodia with the Provincial Governor and representatives from local government agencies and the private sector.
The Thai Foreign Minister’s visit to Sa Kaeo Industrial Estate followed his official visit to Cambodia on June 27, 2024. During that visit, discussions focused on enhancing connectivity and complementarity between the special border economic zones of both countries, building on previous discussions between the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia.
Insights from this visit will inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ ongoing consultations with Cambodian counterparts on the matter.
