BANGKOK (NBT WORLD) – A recent survey conducted by North Bangkok University has shown widespread public approval of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s government after six months in office. The poll, which gathered responses from 1,500 participants across Thailand, indicates strong confidence in the administration’s policies, particularly in economic relief and crime prevention. The government’s digital wallet program and crackdown on call center scams emerged as the most well-received efforts, while the Ministry of Transport was rated as the most effective department.
Public satisfaction with the administration remains high, with 52.7% of respondents expressing approval of the government’s performance. The digital wallet policy, designed to provide economic relief, was the most favored measure, followed closely by efforts to tackle financial fraud and the ongoing campaign against drug-related crimes. Other well-supported policies included expanded universal healthcare, flood and drought management, and the introduction of a flat 20-baht fare for public transport.
Confidence in the government’s ability to address national challenges is also strong, with 60.4% of respondents expressing varying levels of confidence. Economic management, social welfare, and crime prevention continue to be key areas where the administration has made progress, reinforcing public trust in its leadership.
Government ministries have also received positive recognition, with the Ministry of Transport ranked as the most effective, followed by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education also ranked among the top performers, underscoring the government’s focus on infrastructure development, national security, and improvements in education.
