The Ministry of Culture continues to draw large crowds to the “243 Years of Rattanakosin under Royal Grace” celebrations, which are taking place across three major venues in Bangkok. According to Minister of Culture Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, visitors of all ages, both Thai and international, have been attending the event, which is being held at Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park, the Bangkok National Museum, and Wat Prayurawongsawat.
Highlights from April 26 included musical performances by the “Ruam Dao Krajuy” Band, theatrical shows, and lively concerts at Centenary Park, alongside a bustling food and cultural market with more than 100 booths. The Bangkok National Museum hosted its Night Museum program with traditional performances and an outdoor screening of the film “Twilight over Burma.” Wat Prayurawongsawat offered a traditional temple fair atmosphere, complete with musical performances and a singing competition.
Today, April 27, the festivities continue with performances from the “Rueang Rattanakosin Thin Siam” music band, retro dance shows at Centenary Park, and cultural activities at the National Museum, including a performance by the Joe Louis Puppet Theater and an outdoor screening of “Last Crazy Trip.” Wat Prayurawongsawat will feature orchestral music, traditional garland dances, and more cultural displays throughout the day.
The event has also boosted local economies, with strong sales reported at food and craft markets across all three venues. Visitors have been encouraged to explore each site, experiencing different aspects of Thai culture and heritage while enjoying the festive atmosphere.
