Partnership Between DITP and Amazon to Enhance Thai Exports to the U.S.

BANGKOK (NNT) – The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and Amazon Global Selling (AGS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to boost the e-commerce export capabilities of Thailand’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Announced during the TOPTHAI Cross Border E-Commerce Day 2024, the collaboration is set to enhance Thai businesses’ knowledge of e-commerce exports to the U.S. through workshops, advisory services, and support for those interested in becoming Amazon selling partners.

The U.S., which ranked second globally in e-commerce revenue in 2023, is a priority market for many Thai SMEs. The MOU is expected to help these businesses capitalize on export opportunities by educating them about selling on Amazon’s U.S. platform, U.S. consumer trends, and best market navigation practices. Amazon Global Selling will also participate in DITP’s roadshows across Thailand to raise awareness of these opportunities and provide hands-on guidance.

The partnership will expand the TOPTHAI project, which promotes Thai products on international e-commerce platforms. DITP will support SMEs already selling on Amazon by helping them participate in promotional campaigns and activities designed to increase sales and visibility. The collaboration will also feature a showcase at the TOPTHAIxAmazon Pavilion event in New York City’s Times Square on September 3, the first major initiative following the MOU signing.
