Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, acting on behalf of the Prime Minister, presided over a donation ceremony to receive essential supplies and financial contributions from private sector organizations aimed at assisting those affected by the ongoing situation along the Thai-Cambodian border.
The donations were made through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Also present at the event were Ms. Yupha Taweewattanakitborvon, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, and Ms. Chuenchiwan Limpteerakul, Deputy Permanent Secretary.
On this occasion, the Acting Prime Minister expressed his sincere gratitude to the contributing organizations for their compassion and timely support to fellow citizens affected by the border tensions.
The donations included both goods and funds from the following organizations:
1. Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTS Group) — Donated 50,000,000 THB
2. Rainwood Foundation (Thailand) — Donated a total of 2,573,888 THB in the form of cash, medical equipment, and essential consumer goods
3. Teochew Association of Thailand, the Nine Chinese Associations Club, and other regional Chinese associations — Donated 2,490,000 THB
Earlier in the day, the Thai-Chinese Friendship Foundation, in collaboration with Yongxing Steel (Thailand) Co., Ltd., donated an additional 3,000,000 THB to support those affected by the Thai-Cambodian border situation.
These contributions reflect the enduring spirit of unity and generosity among Thai people and organizations during times of crisis.
