Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra recently met with Bruno Vanwelsenaers, the Chief Executive Officer of TL International, at Government House to discuss the “Tomorrowland Thailand 2026” project. In a social media post following the meeting, the Prime Minister said the discussion continues an initiative started by her predecessor, former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.
She stated that the project is currently in the study and preparation phase. The Prime Minister emphasized that the government wants Thailand to be the “heart of the event,” not merely a venue, by incorporating Thai culture and people into all festival activities to maximize local benefits.
This initiative is seen as an opportunity to elevate Thai artists, boost the national music industry, and establish a new standard for concerts in the country. The ultimate goal is to transform Thailand into a “World Event Destination.”
The Prime Minister framed the potential festival as a key component of the government’s soft power policy. She said the event represents new economic opportunities, new income, and a new path for Thais in the creative industries.
