On November 13, 2025, Mr. Somchai Leelanoi, Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, assigned Mr. Panya Praditsarn, Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Agricultural Officer, to preside over the opening ceremony of “Campaign Day for Harvesting Quality Durian for Export” at the multipurpose area of Pak Long Chemical Shop, Village No. 5, Krung Ching Subdistrict, Nopphitam District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
Mr. Monthon Srinun, the District Chief of Nopphitam, reported on the objectives of the event, including information on the durian production situation in Nopphitam District.
The provincial agricultural officer then met with durian farmers and emphasized the importance of “safety in producing quality durian for both producers and consumers in accordance with GAP standards,” as well as the impact of the problem of low-quality durian on the price and credibility of Thai durian quality.
It is also necessary to understand the production and harvesting processes to obtain quality durians. Follow the “Measures to Prevent Low-Quality Durians from Entering the Market” by cooperating in “Checking the Percentage of Dry Weight of Durian Meat Before Cutting and Selling”.
On this occasion, Mr. Charin Suksiri, District Agricultural Officer of Nopphitam, along with his subordinate officials, set up a service point to check the percentage of dry weight of durian flesh for farmers attending the event. This operation was supported by Paklong Chemicals and Thepwatana Company.
Mr. Phongphat Phimsen, Acting District Agricultural Officer of Chang Klang District, shared information on the current issue of GAP certificate fraud to raise awareness among farmers about the proper use of GAP certificates.
In the event of fraud, farmers must cooperate with relevant officials in investigating the facts in order to take legal action against the fraudsters.
