In Davos, Switzerland, discussions on sustainable investment highlighted Thailand’s commitment to green initiatives and its appeal as a destination for environmentally responsible businesses.

Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra met with Takeshi Niinami, CEO of Suntory Holdings Co., Ltd., to discuss the company’s plans to expand its eco-friendly operations in Thailand. The talks focused on increasing the production of recyclable and environmentally friendly plastic bottles, a core component of Suntory’s global sustainability strategy.

Niinami reaffirmed Suntory’s dedication to environmental responsibility, citing Thailand as a strategic location for advancing the company’s sustainable production goals. He emphasized that expanding eco-friendly initiatives in Thailand aligns seamlessly with Suntory’s global vision for a greener future.

The Prime Minister assured Suntory of the Thai government’s full support. She highlighted the administration’s “Ease of Doing Business” policy as a key effort to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and streamline processes for investors. She also reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable and innovative ventures, ensuring Thailand remains a competitive hub for environmentally conscious enterprises.
