Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra met with Remy Ejel, CEO of Nestlé’s Zone Asia, Oceania, and Africa, during the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, discussing investments, sustainable agricultural development and strengthening Thailand’s status as a global trade hub.
During the meeting, Paetongtarn made clear Thailand’s commitment to supporting modern agricultural practices, improving the ease of doing business for investors, and advancing trade partnerships, including the upcoming Free Trade Agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
Nestlé, in return, reaffirmed its intention to continue conducting business in Thailand, where it has invested over 22.8 billion baht between 2018 and 2024 to expand production lines for coffee products, UHT beverages, and pet food. The company’s future plans include increasing investments in Nescafé production facilities and further supporting Thai coffee farmers by expanding cultivation areas, providing training in modern farming techniques, and ensuring fair pricing for coffee beans to sustain farmers’ livelihoods.
Nestlé’s long-standing presence in Thailand has played an essential role in supporting the agricultural sector and local communities. The company operates nine production facilities across the country, producing popular brands such as Nescafé, Milo, and Bear Brand milk. For over 40 years, Nestlé has focused on sustainable practices and maintaining strong partnerships with Thai farmers.
