PERU (NBT WORLD) – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra successfully concluded her participation in the 31st Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, held in Lima, Peru, from November 14 to 16. The summit provided a platform for extensive discussions with APEC leaders and engagement in sessions addressing key regional economic priorities.
During the summit, Paetongtarn reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to engage in international economic cooperation, underscoring the nation’s position as a strategic partner for trade and investment. Her active involvement further reinforced Thailand’s role within the APEC framework, advancing opportunities for global collaboration and strengthening its stature in the international economic arena.
In bilateral talks with President Dina Boluarte of Peru, the two leaders advanced discussions on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), with a target for completion by 2025. They also examined avenues for cultural and creative collaborations to enhance mutual relations. Separately, in discussions with President Xi Jinping of China, the Thai premier reiterated Thailand’s commitment to bilateral and multilateral cooperation on trade, security, and preparations to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
The summit’s outcomes are expected to enhance Thailand’s trade and investment opportunities, further strengthening its role as a prominent player in global economic affairs.
